Crew
In spring, we accept applications for the following Production (on-set) positions:

Duties:
- Work with Director of Cinematography to create a shot list
- Run rehearsals with the actors to prepare for filming
- Direct the actors on set
- Bring the dailys to the editor and review
- Oversee the rough cuts and review final product
- Create storyboards with the Director of Cinematography
- Submit a directing sample
- Must have taken Fundamentals of Production
- Good communication skills
- One month of pre-production, production, and post-production
- Rehearsals 2-4 times a week during the filming of your episode
- Weekend availability for the filming of your episode, as well as availability to meet with editors.
Duties:
- Observe the Director throughout the creation of the shot list
- Create set up schedule
- Ensure filming day is running on schedule
- Keep notes for each take on shot list (
- Act as communicator between director and rest of the crew
- Be familiar with the on-set cadence
- Coordinate extras
- Ensure all written materials are returned to the office for Post-Production team.

Duties:
- Supervise actor coverage during filming
- Ensure filming day is running on schedule
- Runs the set
- Watch for and keep notes on continuity
- Make notes for the director/the asst. Director/Producers
- Keep track of which actors are playing who and work with Asst. Editors to build the credits
- Keep track of all crew and cast on set every day
- Create and monitor a sign in sheet at every rehearsal day to record all cast and crew for credits.
- Ensure all written materials are returned to the office for Post-Production team.

Duties:
- Work with the Director to create a shot list
- Observe rehearsals to navigate blocking with the Director
- Operate camera, direct audio operator
- Create and draw lighting plots
- Manage grips/gaffers on set
- Review dailies with the Director
- Check out and return all necessary equipment
- Submit a cinematography sample
- Must have taken Fundamentals of Production
- Good communication skills
- Have knowledge of Arri, Kino Flo, Omni, and Ikan lighting kits
- Ask an experienced student to help you
- One month of pre-production, production, and post-production
- Rehearsals 2-4 times a week during the filming of your episode
- Weekend availability for the filming of your episode, as well as availability to meet with editors.
Writing Team
In fall, we accept applications for the following writer positions:

Head Writer

Staff Writer

Duties:
- Attend weekly writing meetings to create the stories for your assigned series
- Work with a team of 3 other head writers and 6 staff writers to create story arcs, characters, and a mini-series
- Assign portions of writing to staff writers and oversee the writing of each episode
- Critique the script drafts and work with team to make necessary changes
- Coordinate with producers to get scripts written and finalized in a timely manner.
- Must submit a writing sample in script format.
- Must have at least JR or SR standing
- Good communication
- Leadership experience
- RTV3101 or a similar course preferred, but not mandatory.
- Weekly writing meetings
- Attend auditions with the producers to cast the show
Duties:
- Attend weekly writing meetings to create the stories for your assigned series
- Work with a team of 2 other staff writers and 2 head writers to create story arcs, characters, and a mini-series
- Write based on assignment from head writers and make changes after each meeting and draft critique
- Must submit a minimum 5-page screenplay or theatrical script.

Duties:
- Lead art direction meetings when your episode is in preproduction and production
- Coordinating the art direction team in all aspects of production design including, location, costumes, and props
- Charged with creating the aesthetic of the episode and keeping it consistent with series aesthetic
- Work closely with the director to create the vision that is within budget
- Creates a production book and works with Props/Costumes/Locations to figure out logistics of what is needed/when/where and ensuring everything is ready ahead of shooting
- Must be extremely organized and have an eye for design
- Leadership skills

- Graphic design is a plus

- Attend filming on the days your episode is in production
Duties:
- Report to the production designer
- Keep record of all the props for the episode and have them prepared and ready to go ahead of the episode
- Create/purchase/gather all props for the episode ensuing a consistent look throughout what is used

Duties:
- Report to the production designer
- Confirm costuming with actors prior to shoot
- Coordinate extras costumes
- Communicate with production designer and director
- Keep record of the costumes for all of the actors and extras

- Eye for design and consistency
- Weekly art direction meetings
Duties:
- Report to the production designer (location managers are part of the producer’s team)
- Coordinate extras
- Keep track of all the locations for all of the scenes
- Discuss location ideas with director then work to confirm locations/timing and report back with confirmation
- Manage all permits/permissions
- Coordinate with professors/instructors when necessary
- Good communication
- Must be able to write a professional email
- Able to communicate and work in a timely manner with community and school members to secure locations
- Good organizational skills

- Any on site coordinating on day of shoot (making sure they are ready for us, having necessary keys, ensuring that the place is left in good condition)

Duties:
- Keep track of all digital assets the Editor/asst. Editors are working with
- Contact graphic designers for any additional elements needed
- Responsible for handling the hard drive
- Responsible for organizing all of the footage on the hard drive
- Make sure all of the episodes are back-upped, named and dated correctly
- Keep track of all the songs used in the episodes
- Responsible for sending rough cuts to producers
- Responsible for the Final Exports of the episodes and their naming conventions
- Work closely with producers and editors
- Keep track of all the shots sheets once they’ve been handed over from production
- Contact people who are going to score an episode
- Working knowledge of Premiere Pro (After Effects a bonus!)
- Good leadership
- Good organizational skills

- Know to write a professional email
- Must be on call for editors during post-production phase
- Attend Episode meetings
- Making sure editors are on track and moving along with the schedule
Duties:
- Review dailies with the Director and Cinematographer
- Cut the entire show in the style deemed appropriate for the director/producers
- Color correcting and color grading the show to fit the correct aesthetic
- Find appropriate music for scenes and match them accordingly
- Fix audio and make sure it sounds consistent throughout the piece
- Log how much time it takes to cut a scene and/or make changes
- Turn in draft cuts ON TIME
- Must submit a narrative editing sample
- Must have working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro
- Have some knowledge of Audition
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work long hours into the day/night
- Good communication with Director and producer and production coordinator
- Be able to easily make changes
- Must be able to cut at least 5-10 hours a week
- Work on deadline for 3-4 weeks to create an episode of the web series
Duties:
- Log and transfer all the dailies with Chief Editor preferably before the Director gets to the cutting room
- Organize footage, sequences, music, graphics, and any other editorial elements into bins
- Assist the Chief Editor as either an assembly editor, audio editor, graphics editor, or sfx editor
- Create the credits and make sure that everything is spelled correctly and everyone is accredited accordingly
- Be able to sync video and audio
- Knowledge of Premiere Pro
- Great digital organizational skills
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Audition
- Be able to help editor at least 5-10 hrs/week during post-production phase
